A diversity of business imperatives combine to create this complex and challenging role focusing on culture and capability development. Working autonomously, your key objective will be to partner effectively with management to develop and implement innovative and comprehensive OHS systems and services that have practical, positive business related outcomes and that drive and influence cultural change across the business.
The major challenges of this hands-on role are to:
• Ensure compliance with appropriate legislation is maintained
• Support line management on safety systems and performance
• Facilitate employee safety meetings and communication
• Develop and implement corrective action procedures, and follow through on identified non-conformances
• Conduct risk assessments and investigations
• Report to senior management on site OHS performance
Capitalising on your generalist OHS experience, you must be able to demonstrate a proven record of success in coaching and facilitating line management ownership of OHS issues. Ideally such experience will have been gained in a manufacturing, logistics or industrial environment. Tertiary qualifications are preferred, as is a sense of humour !
Additionally, we are ideally looking for:
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and safety management systems
• Solid working knowledge and experience in OHS, Rehabilitation, Workers Compensation, and Risk management
• Effective influencing skills and a strong consultative style
• An ability to foster and develop sound working relationships at all levels
• Negotiation skills
• Strong PC skills
