A leader in its segment, this company manufactures and sells big ticket customised decorator solutions to the home renovation market. Sales leads are generated by a full mix of direct response marketing comprising electronic and print media, home shows and a network of retail showrooms. Leads are converted to appointments by showroom consultants and telemarketers and are converted to sales in the home by an incentivised designer sales team. The company now seeks a Sales Manager with the skills and experience to motivate a talented direct sales team through a team leader structure and to drive and monitor results daily by the numbers.

 

Ideally you have been responsible for a direct selling team of showroom consultants and field sales people larger than 10 in number. You may have built your experience in the home renovation (bathrooms, kitchens, window furnishings), home improvement (shower screens, wardrobes, home security, home extensions and swimming pools), project home or home centre markets. You have succeeded in your sales leadership by providing focus, motivation, problem solving and support, and training and development, preferably across multiple locations. You manage by the numbers daily, monitoring lead generation and conversion of leads to appointments and appointments to sales and dollars per sale by individual, location and team.

 

Focusing on team organisation and discipline, you use empathy and provide support to achieve results. You train and lead by example in telemarketing and direct selling techniques and have the skill to identify and pre-empt emerging team and individual performance issues. You are disciplined in scheduling and conducting regular sales meetings, performance reviews, skills gap analyses and product and sales training programmes.
